Hair products sit outside a facial routine but share the same assessment logic here: what the formulation contains, how clearly it is disclosed, and whether it is reliably purchasable in the UK. Cleansing, conditioning and treatment steps address the hair fibre and the scalp differently, and a product that suits one often does little for the other.

How we research hair products
Nothing is published here yet. Every entry is compiled from manufacturer ingredient disclosures, published cosmetic science literature and UK retailer listings. We do not run clinical trials, and we do not publish a product until its formulation details have been checked against a source we can cite.
- Formulation: INCI lists, key actives, fragrance and alcohol status where the brand discloses them.
- Evidence: what the published research suggests for the key ingredients, and what it does not establish.
- UK availability: retailer listings and prices, with the date each was last checked. Where a price is not recent enough to quote, we say “check latest price” instead of guessing.

Choosing hair products
- Treat scalp concerns and length concerns as separate problems with separate products.
- Silicone content is a preference rather than a safety question for most people.
- Introduce one product at a time, as with skincare, to attribute any reaction correctly.
